Time saving dessert
I was born & raised in the South. If there’s one thing I know, it’s that Peach Cobbler is always a good idea. I grew up with my Mom & Grandma making this dish. I come from a big family and that is how I know how to feed people. Make enough for everyone to eat! This dessert can be brought to summer gatherings, family dinners or when you want some sweet peach cobbler for yourself! I love making homemade desserts. It’s a passion of mine, but one thing that gets in the way is time! I don’t always have the time to really spend the day or even a few hours in my kitchen. So when I look for desserts to make, I want it to be functional for my busy lifestyle! That is when I think of this recipe. It’s so delicious and comes together in just around an hour.
A dessert to feed a crowd!
My mom gifted my sister and I this specific pan to make two things. One of those things is Peach Cobbler. (I’ll get into specifics on the pan and sizing below.) This pan of peach cobbler can easily feed a large group! My mom never cooked for a small meals and she didn’t teach me to either. So when I make this, I know it will feed a crowd; and trust me, you’ll need to feed the crowd because they will all want this! There is nothing better than sweet delicious peaches and a gooey cobbler with a crisp crumble on top! You can even add a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream and this would be a heavenly combination!
Kitchen Items You’ll Need:
Large mixing bowl
Glass measuring cup
Whisk
Can opener
Large baking pan
Ingredients:
3 large cans of sliced peaches
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350
- Spray large pan with non stick cooking spray
- Open 3 cans of peaches, drain 1 can. Pour into large mixing bowl.
- Remove peaches from the juice (leave juice in large mixing bowl) and place in the pan. Spread them around the pan. If you notice any pieces are too large, you can cut them in half. I also suggest to trim any pieces that may be hard from where the peach was cut near the pit.
- Add about 3/4 of yellow cake mix into the peach juice and stir with whisk.
- Pour mix over the peaches in the pan. Do not stir. Just pour over and lightly spread around the pan if needed.
- Sprinkle the remaining cake mix over the whole pan.
- Drizzle 1 stick of melted butter over the dry cake mix.
- Bake for 1 hour and 5 minutes or until golden brown. (Your oven temp & time may vary, you can start checking your cobbler about 45 minutes in.)
- Let cool 20 minutes before serving.
